Solutions we offer
GSI Nordic supplies industrial inkjet systems for marking directly in production, primarily in sawmills, wood processing and manufacturing industries.
Our systems are used to print barcodes, QR codes and certification markings directly onto materials such as sawn timber, plywood, cardboard, metal and plastic – without labels or pre-treatment.
This enables reliable traceability, reduces manual work and eliminates issues associated with labels that fade, detach or require manual application in demanding production environments.
The systems are designed for high line speeds and continuous operation with minimal maintenance, and are used for end marking of sawn timber, face marking of boards, as well as marking of packages, plywood panels and EPS directly in production lines.
Our products are developed for GSI (Graphic Solid Inks) by the team behind GSI Nordic, allowing us to adapt solutions to specific customer requirements and integration into existing production lines.
GSI also develops its own inks in the USA, where the equipment is manufactured, providing full control over the entire marking process.

Customer reference — Pallet marking
"The pallet line places tough demands on the equipment – vibrations and sawdust are everyday occurrences, and we placed the printer right at the corner cut where it is the toughest. The maintenance requirement has proven to be minimal even in that environment."
The long throw distance means we can mark even pallets where the wings protrude slightly beyond the blocks – without having to adjust the line or compromise the placement. Changing the layout or stamps is handled by our own staff – no service visits, no downtime.

Our marking systems consist of high-performance, high-resolution industrial inkjet printers, optimized for UV-curable inks and designed for continuous operation (24/7) in demanding production environments.

We print barcodes, QR codes and IPPC markings directly onto wood, cardboard, metal and plastic – without labels or pre-treatment.
For the pallet industry, for example, we are EPAL-approved to write QR codes in black/white directly on EPAL pallets, with documented readability and contrast according to current requirements.
Ink
Our printers use unique UV-curable inks with the following advantages over conventional inks in high-resolution industrial systems:

Instant curing with energy-efficient LED-UV – the print is immediately ready for further handling without drying time.

No bleeding or penetration into the material after curing.

Sharp and clear code reproduction even on wood and other porous surfaces , which provides good readability for barcodes and QR codes even in tough production environments with dust and varying material quality.

Very good adhesion to both porous and non-porous materials.

No evaporation or substrate pretreatment is required.

Integration
GSI's printers are network-based and developed from the ground up for easy integration into industrial IT and automation environments.
The systems can communicate and interface with basically all types of higher-level systems – regardless of whether they are modern business systems, production systems (MES), databases or PLC controls.
This minimizes the need for changes to the customer's system and reduces both costs and risks when upgrading or replacing systems.
About us
GSI – Graphic Solid Inks , based in Atlanta, has been developing specialty inks for industrial marking solutions for demanding production environments since 2010.
In 2021, the first proprietary printing systems were launched in the Colorize™ and NoLabel™ product families, developed for labeling and direct printing in cardboard, wood industry, pallet manufacturing, packaging and other industrial applications.
The printers are Swedish-developed . Hardware and software are designed in Sweden by the same team that currently runs GSI Nordic , who continues to be responsible for technical development. This gives us a unique position where we have full control over the system architecture and continuously develop the technology based on real requirements from Nordic sawmills and pallet industries.
GSI Nordic , founded in 2023, is responsible for distribution, installation and technical support in the Nordic region. The team behind it has over 20 years of experience in industrial printers, marking and system integration.
Operational reliability is crucial in our customers' production. That's why we work closely with experienced installers and service technicians who have extensive experience from sawmills, pallet industries, paper mills and other demanding environments.
